About Me!

I am often referred to as the "Green Acres Girl"! Born and raised in Colorado (graduated from Greeley High School decades ago). On a whim, I decided to apply for a country school position in the community of Lemmon, SD, met the only available bachelor, married the land, and there I live in my weekend life.
After teaching for 23 years, which included elementary and technology, I was enticed by a Technology Integration opportunity with the Department of Education. I also served as a school board member in my school district after resigning as a teacher. I later took on the Directorship of Certification and Accreditation and was appointed as the Deputy Secretary of Education this past January.  Much of my work in the Department has been centered around teacher quality and support. I continue to stay involved in these initiatives in my new position. Needless to say, education is my life and my passion.
I have had the unique opportunity to continue teaching both online and face to face at both USD, BHSU as well as Montana State University. My Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Elementary Education were completed at the University of Mary in Bismarck and my PhD in Leadership and Higher Education from the University of Lincoln, NE.
